We are a boutique builder specialising in extensions and renovations to Brisbane’s homes. We keep our core team small, deliberately so. That means that when you engage Wooloowin Building Co. you deal directly with our Director, Andrew Neilsen, on-site and in person to see your project through to completion.
From its beginnings, Brisbane created a distinctive urban landscape. Tin-roofed, weatherboard clad and set high on stumps, these homes were protected by wide verandahs as a clever response against the harsh Queensland sun. They are an enduring image of suburban life in our beautiful city.
Fast forward to today and clever design allows these homes to open outwards through large glass doors and down to a swimming pool via a timber deck, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living whilst retaining heart and soul.

We have a genuine passion for working with Brisbane’s traditional homes, considering how old and new will meet is a challenge we relish. We understand that no two projects are the same and know what to expect when working in with existing structures and site conditions. We look forward to working with you.
Andrew – Director
Working in the construction industry for over 15 years has fostered Andrew’s strong passion for residential construction and design. Coupled with unrelenting drive and attention to detail, Andrew is proud to be the Director of Wooloowin Building Company.
Growing up on the Fraser Coast as an avid cricketer, Andrew moved to Brisbane in 2013 and completed a degree in Construction Management at the University of Technology. Around the same time, Andrew purchased a dilapidated workers cottage in Wooloowin and restored it to the highest standard. That humble cottage, sparked a lifelong love of Brisbane’s traditional homes.
Andrew takes a hands-on approach so when you engage Wooloowin Building Company, Andrew will be on-site to personally guide your project through to completion.
When not working or tinkering in his shed, Andrew loves spending time with his family and taking the sometimes site supervisor Morris the Labrador for walks along Kedron Brook.
Brad – Leading Hand
In 2014, Brad touched down in Australia and shifted the energy and enthusiasm previously dedicated to Rugby Fields in North Wales to the construction industry.
Initially in Sydney, Brad was in the Civil Industry for 6 years. During this time, he worked his way up from labourer to supervisor in various projects across NSW.
Following a decision to relocate to Brisbane and move into residential construction, Brad picked up the tools as Wooloowin Building Co’s leading hand, the rest is history.
In his spare time Brad loves being outdoors and active but mostly dedicates his time to his family, enjoying being a hands-on Dad.
